In yet another initiative aimed at well being of cops of curfew duty, the Commissioner of Police Mr Gurpreet Singh Bhullar today announced that all the 1600 Police personnel would soon get a new pair of shoes.The Commissioner of Police, who conducted flag march in city today to review the situation, sought suggestions from cops on duty regarding their welfare. The cops thanked Mr Bhullar for his decision to provide new uniform to them during curfew duty. They also informed him that shoes were also required for the cops adding that if it can be done it would be of great help.Acceding to the demand, the Commissioner of Police immediately announced that the cops would get new pair of shoes very soon. He immediately tied up with the shoes manufacturer and asked them to depute teams for taking size of the all cops deputed on curfew duty. Mr Bhullar said that while the officers of NGO rank would get pair of brown shoes those of OR rank would get black shoes. Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police said that the force was on high morale during the curfew duty. He said that no stone would be left unturned to tackle curfew due to Covid 19. Mr Bhullar asked the people to support the Police and Civil administration in this hour of crisis.The Commissioner of Police took the flag march in Guru Nanak Mission Chowk, Skylark Chowk, Namdev Chowk, Press Club Chowk, Shastri Market Chowk, BMC Chowk, Sri Ram Chowk, Bhagwan Valmiki (Jyoti Chowk), Dr BR Ambedkar Chowk, Link Road, Bhargo camp, Sri Guru Ravidass Chowk, Manbro Chowk, Model Town market, Geeta Mandir, New Jawahar Nagar market, APJ School and BMC Chowk.
