DC and CP ask Health department to further aggressively intensify door to door identification drive of patient suffering from Covid 19

Updated roadmap to be put in place for combatting the pandemic effectively

Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Police Mr Gurpreet Singh Bhullar today asked the health department to aggressively further intensify door to door drive for identification of patients in the areas infected with Covid 19.Chairing a meeting with officers of the health department here today, the Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police said that an updated roadmap must be prepared by putting all the resources in place for ensuring that a vigorous drive was launched for identification of the people suffering from Corona Virus. They said that the survey must be completed at the earliest and tests of any person having symptoms of Covid 19 must be done at the earliest. Both the officers said tests must be done by using Rapid Detection Kits so that any person having symptoms could be detected and shifted to local civil for the treatment.The Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police said that five hi-end Rapid Response Teams led by highly qualified Doctors would be deployed in the city to ensure prompt medical assistance to any patient complaining of the symptoms. They said that these teams would be apart from the already existing 40 Rapid Response Teams . Both the officers said that besides this the emergency control room would be further strengthened for prompt and effective response to any help required by people.The Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police said that the identification of contacts of the Covid infected persons should also be expedited. They said that contact tracing would be supervised by Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr Vishesh Sarangal who would be assisted by detective staff of Commissionerate Police led by Assistant Commissioner of Police rank officer. Both the officers said that every step would be taken to ensure that Corona Virus was wiped out of the district.It was informed in the meeting that health department was already holding door to door survey of containment zone and buffer zones in the district.On the occasion Chief Executive Officer Smart City Ms Shena Aggarwal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr Vishesh Sarangal, Assistant Commissioner Mr Amanpreet Singh, Civil Surgeon Dr Gurinder Chawla, Medical Superintendent Dr Mandeep Kaur, District Epidemiologist Dr Shobna and others.
