In order to ensure the social distancing and other precautions being followed by the vendors in the Maqsudan vegetable and fruit market, The Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar today said that the public announcements regarding social distancing, wearing masks, gloves and washing hands would be carried out regularly in the market amidst the ongoing curfew.The Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police who today inspected the arrangements in the market, held extensive deliberations with the SDM Mr Rahul Sindhu, DCP Mr Gurmeet Singh, ADCP Ms D Sudarvizhi and DMO Mr Davinder Singh in the market.They also said that more civil and police would be deployed in the market for ensuring social distancing besides, asked the officers to ensure round the clock public announcements to aware the vendors to maintain the social distancing, wearing mask and gloves, washing hand regularly.They also discussed the medical examination of the vendors at the market’s gate by the doctors’ team of IMA.

The officers unequivocally said that no stone would be left unturned for serving the people of the district in these tough times. The Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police said that every effort was afoot for ensuring that the war against Covid 19 was won.They said that the officers of the civil and Police administration were already on their toes for serving the people with missionary zeal. The officers further said that people should not worry as the administration was fully committed for ensuring their wellbeing.Meanwhile, the officers also led a flag march which crossed from Court Complex Chowk, Hotel Kamal Palace Chowk, Lal Bahadur Shastri Market Chowk, Phagwara Gate, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk, Adda Hoshiarpur Chowk, Mai Heera Gate, Tanda Road, Doaba Chowk, Sodal Chowk, Chandan Nagar, Workshop Chowk, Kapurthala Chowk, Dr BR Ambedkar Chowk , Guru Nanak Mission Chowk and others.The officers assured the people that every step would be taken to maintain law and order situation in the district. They said that people must stay inside their homes and support the district administration for keeping the corona virus at bay.
