Ensure best facilities in quarantine Centres : Jai Ram Thakur

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, in a video conferencing meeting here today issued directions to all the Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police and Chief Medical Officers of the State to ensure best possible facilities in quarantine centres so that people kept in these centres do not face any inconvenience during the period in the wake of coronavirus. Chief Minister directed the officers to motivate the farmers to ensure social distancing during the crop harvesting season and facilitate them for procurement of their produce.  He directed the officers to ensure adequate supply of pesticides and other plant protection material to the horticulturists nearer to their homes. He said that steps should also be taken to make available the boxes to horticulturists for packing their produces.Jai Ram Thakur said that the adequate availability of essential commodities must be ensured to the people. He asked the officers to strengthen home delivery system in their respective districts as it would discourage the people to come out for getting their daily needs. 

He directed the officers to keep constant check on hoarding and profiteering and strict action must be taken against the violators. Chief Minister said that as many as 5637 persons had been kept under surveillance in the State so far out of which 3486 people had completed 28 days of surveillance period. He said that investigations of 97 persons for COVID-19 had been done in the State today out of which 28 samples have been found negative and report of 69 samples were still awaited. He said that 1210 persons had so far been investigated in the State for coronavirus.Besides, ensuring social distancing, the social gatherings of any kind must not be allowed.  He said that special emphasis should be laid on checking interstate movement to avoid further spread of corona virus in the State. Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj, Chief Secretary Anil Khachi, Director General of Police S.R. Mardi, Additional Chief Secretary Home, Manoj Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary Health, R.D. Dhiman, Principal Secretaries J.C. Sharma and Onkar Chand Sharma and Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sanjay Kundu, Secretary Rajneesh and Director Information and Public Relations Harbans Singh Brascon attended the meeting.
