Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while interacting in a video conferencing with all the Chief Ministers of the States today, reviewed the current situation arisen due to spread of Corona pandemic across the country.Later, the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur held video conference meeting with all Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police and Chief Medical Officers of the State from Shimla and apprised them regarding various directions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during video conferencing with the Chief Ministers of the country for control of Covid-19.Chief Minister stressed the need for downloading the Arogya Setu App which would be helpful in tracking and tracing Covid-19 cases. He said that possibilities should be explored to use services of the labour sitting in relief camps in the industrial units. He said that to facilitate the students, stationary shops would remain open on Monday and Thursday during the curfew relaxation period in the state.Chief Minister said that all the Chief Ministers were of the view that the time of the lockdown should be increased and this phase of lockdown would be different from the earlier one. Jai Ram Thakur directed the officers that appropriate steps should be taken to facilitate the farmers during curfew as their crops were on harvesting stage. He said that steps should also be taken for procurement of their produce, adding that farmers should be sensitized regarding social distancing during the crop harvesting.Chief Minister said that 684 contacts of Tablighi Jamaat were under quarantine in the State and they must be kept under surveillance till they are announced medically healthy, else the whole purpose of quarantine will get defeated.
He said that 15 vehicles would be converted as sampling vehicles to test the symptomatic people identified during the Active Case Finding Campaign (ACFC).Jai Ram Thakur said that the department of food and civil supplies and civil supplies corporation must ensure adequate stock of essential commodities in open markets to facilitate the people. He said that efforts should also be made to ensure buffer stock in civil supplies corporation’s depots. He said that special thrust should be laid on checking, hoarding and profiteering and strict action must be taken against the violators.He urged the Central Government to set up RT-PCR laboratory in Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College, Ner Chowk, district Mandi to increase investigation of Covid-19 samples in the State. Chief Minister said that as many as 5404 persons had been kept under surveillance for corona virus in the State so far out of which 2969 people had completed 28 days of surveillance period. He said that today investigations of 64 persons for COVID-19 had been done in the State out of which 57 samples have been found negative, two samples were positive and report of five samples were still awaited.Additional Chief Secretary Health R.D. Dhiman said that 954 persons had so far been investigated in the State for coronavirus out of which 917 were found negative. He said that presently reports of 32 people had been found positive out of which six persons have been recovered. In addition this, four persons have gone for treatment outside the State and one person has died. He said that remaining 21 persons were under treatment in the hospitals of the State.Chief Secretary Anil Khachi, Director General of Police S.R. Mardi, Additional Chief Secretary Home Manoj Kumar, Principal Secretaries Prabodh Saxena, Onkar Chand Sharma and Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sanjay Kundu also attended the meeting.
