In reference to the news article circulated in the media that “150 families in the Dunai village at verge of starvation” as alleged by one Babu Ram R/o Village Doniyan Tehsil and district Samba, District administration constituted a deployment team headed by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Samba Vikas Gupta to the village Dunai for ascertaining the factual position of the status of ration supply in the block.Giving information, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Samba said that he along with Assistant Director CAPD, Davinder Balwaria, Naib-Tehsildar Sumb visited and found out that  in entire sumb block including village Dunai, the supply of ration is going on smoothly.ADC further informed that the Chairman Block Development Council Sumb Ramesh Singh and Sarpanch Halqua Balater Suraj Prakash Verma were enquired about the matter and both of them have intimated that the Ration and LPG supply in the entire block consisting of panchyats Balater, Goran, Patyari, Tallor, Amli, Simlah and Karad is going on smoothly as per the satisfaction of the local residents and there is no dearth of Ration or LPG in the area.  Besides , advance two month ration has also being received from administration”

The deployment team also visited the house of one Babu Ram and found out that there is sufficient stock of food grains in his house. Upon enquiry, Babu Ram has stated that he has received two months advance ration from the concerned dealer and he was waiting for free ration as well, being provided as additional ration to the public. The visiting officers apprised that free ration under PMGKAY scheme will be provided from next week. The statement of Babu Ram has also been recorded.Appealing to general public of Samba Deputy Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria, has asked the public to remain calm and cooperate with  administration by strictly following the directions issued. He has assured that all the essential items including ration, LPG, Water, Electricity and others shall be made available and general public should not panic.DC Samba said that the administration is providing ration and advance two months ration is also being distributed among the listed beneficiaries in the district including alleged village Dunai. He said that wrong reporting in the news article shall be viewed as seriously and action as warranted shall be initiated.
