Tarigami grieved over Prof Khan’s demise

The CPI (M) State Secretary Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has expressed profound grief and shock over demise of noted historian Prof Muhammad Ishaq Khan who passed away after a brief spell of illness.  In a condolence message issued here today, Tarigami has termed Prof Khan an intellectual par excellence and a literary fertile mind whose death has created a huge void in the academic and research field, hard to be filled in near future. Recalling the academic contribution of the deceased, Tarigami observed that in his various official capacities, Prof Khan has not only contributed a lot but inculcated scholarly, innovatory and inquisitive mindset among his taught. Referring to his various works, Tarigami said that the books authored by Prof Khan have tremendously added to the credible and authentic intellectual assets of the state. His tenure at Sheikh-ul-Aalam Chair at the University of Kashmir saw remarkable progress in the academic domain of the chair. Expressing solidarity with the bereaved family, the CPI (M) leader prayed for the courage to the family and eternal peace to the departed soul. “Prof Khan will live long in the annals of history of intellectuals and academicians who have left indelible marks in their respective fields,” Tarigami remarked.
