Only wholesale Bussiness to be allowed from Mandi Fenton Ganj

The Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Police Mr Gurpreet Singh Bhullar today categorically said that only wholesale of grocery would be allowed from Mandi Fenton Ganj market.The Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police who visited the market, also known as Old grain market, said that only wholesale operation would be allowed from this mandi. They said that no retail business would be allowed from the market and anyone flouting the directions would be dealt with sternly. Both the officers said that the operation timings would be 5 am to 11 am only and no Bussiness would be allowed subsequently.The Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police however said that the unloading of trucks of material could be done after 11 am. They said that for this purpose special passes would be issued to the shopkeepers so that there labour could do the work efficaciously. Both the officers said that the vehicles for the material would be parked at the parking of the Railway station and they would be allowed to enter the market on their turn.The Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police also constituted a team of officers comprising Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr Gurmeet Singh, Sub Divisional Magistrate Dr Jai Inder and Assistant Commissioner of Police to streamline arrangements at the market. They asked the officers to execute the plan with the help of shopkeepers to decongest the mandi. The officers said that it would helping in checking the spread of the Covid 19 in the market.
