33 positive cases surface in Jammu Kashmir, Two discharged from SKIMS

Out of 150 Covid-19 suspect patients, the tests of 126 patients have been found negative at Chest Disease Hospital Srinagar.There are 24 Covid-19 positive patients in the hospitals and all are doing well. So for we have conducted re-confirmation tests of some 14 patients and fortunately they have turned negative. Tomorrow we will go for re-confirmation tests again and if they will turn out negative, we will shift all those patients to NIT Srinagar for quarantine. All those patients whose tests are found negative are being shifted to NIT Quarantine Centre,” Medical Superintendent CD Hospital Srinagar, Dr Saleem Tak told Kashmir News Trust.Dr Tak said that majority of the Covid-19 patients are doing well and recovering. “We hope more positive cases will turn out Covid-19 free in coming days,” he added.Meanwhile, two patients who were suffering from Covid-19 infection were discharged from SKIMS Soura after they were fully recovered. Nodal Officer for Coronaviurs at SKIMS, Dr Ghulam Hasan Itoo told KNT that a patient from Baramulla and another from Bandipora were discharged from the hospital after they recovered from the lethal infection. Earlier, also first Covid-19 woman patient was discharged from the hospital.At JLNM Rainawari Hospital, 51 samples were collected from suspects lodged at different quarantine centres. The reconfirmation tests of five confirmed cases were also sent to CD Hospital, said a medico.Meanwhile, Government said that 33 news positive cases surfaced in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, out of which 30 are from Kashmir and 3 from Jammu. Government Spokesperson said that there are 158 Covid-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir out of which 149 are active.Out of 33 positive cases one hails from Manigah Kupwara. Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ansul Garg told KNT that one positive case from Manigah has a history of lodging at Nizamuddin Markz. The suspect was already under quarantine at Covid-19 hospital Kupwara and now has been shifted to Isolation Centre. His primary contacts are being shifted to quarantine for sampling.DDC Kupwara said that the said patient is asymptomatic and is doing fine. (KNT)
