Two more tests positive for COVID-19 in Mansa

Deputy Commissioner says situation under control; appeal residents not to panic, stay indoor

Two more women, who came to Budhlada after attending the congregation at the Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi have tested positive for novel coronavirus (COVID-19). With this, the total number of positive cases in the district has reached five, all associated with the Tablighi Jamaat.As per the information, a total of 10 persons including five women and five men, all residents of Chattisgarh stationed at Masjid in Budhlada on March 19 and were quarantined by the district administration.Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Mansa Gurpal Singh Chahal said that the two women, who found COVID-19 positive were already admitted at isolation ward established at Civil Hospital Mansa. All five positive patients are being treated by the specialist doctors at Civil Hospital.He said that to prevent the spread of the disease, the ward number-4 of Budhlada was declared containment zone, where only police and administration personnel are allowed to enter.He informed that apart from the 10 people—associated with Tablighi Jamaat, the health department had taken samples of 25 persons (including Maulavi at Masjid), who came into the contact of COVID-19 positive persons, of which, 21 have been tested negative (including Maulavi), while reports of four persons are awaited.Deputy Commissioner asked people not to get panic as the situation is under the control and also appealed residents to be wary of rumours and stay indoors.Meanwhile, remaining five persons, associated with Tablighi Jamaat were already tested negative.
