DM Kupwara for stringent action against violators of lockdown

Declares Baghbella-Tanghdar, QC ITI Handwara Red zones

District Magistrate (DM) Kupwara, Anshul Garg, today appealed Kupwara people to strictly adhere to the government advisories and observe lockdown to help the district  administration in fighting the Covid-19 pandemic.DM stated this while issuing order to declare the village Baghbella,Tandghar and Quarantine Centre ITI Handwara Red Zones.  Both the inward and outward movement to these places has been restricted completely. People have been asked to stay indoors.Invoking Epidemic Diseases Act, 1987, Disaster  Management Act, 2005 and section 144Cr.PC,  DM declared Baghbella, Tangdhar  village and the Quarantine Centre at ITI Handwara Red zones,  restricting inward and  outward  movement of any person(s) from said spots, while the surrounding villages of Baghbella Tangdar and ITI Handwara have been  declared buffer zones and the inhabitants  of  these areas have  also been asked to restrict their movement and to not allow relatives and visitors to visit their homes without written permission of concerned  Administrator.Besides, the CDPO, Tandhar and Tehsildar Handwara  have been designated Administrators for Red and Buffer zones in their respective jurisdictions. The  administrators has been directed to ensure screening of households in the Red Zone and furnish information as per the prescribed format and submit the information to District  Magistrate Office on daily basis by 1:00 PM.The Administrators will be assisted by Concerned BDOs and all the officers of the line departments  to ensure the availability  of basic  facilities including food grains, LPG, medicines and other essentials in the Red  and Buffer Zones and have been directed to promptly respond to medical emergencies  while the  concerned BMOs have been asked to dedicate one ambulances each for their respective  areas.Violators have been warned of stringent action, "any person, group, organization  found involved in breach of the order shall be booked under relevant laws", reads the order.
