Encounter stated between government forces and Militants in man Gori area of khul Batpora, in Damhall belt of south Kashmir's Kulgam district. Official sources told wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that on specific inputs about the presence of militants, joint team of forces including 34 RR launched search operation in the area.

On intensifying search operation towards the suspected spot, hiding militants fired which was retaliated triggering an encounter, they said. During initial exchange of fire two unidentified militants were killed and firing has stopped however operation is still on, they said.Pertinently two days before two civilians were killed by unknown gunmen in the area while police as per preliminary investigation said that they were killed by militants.Notably this is first encounter in Kulgam police district after a gap of around 11 months—(KNO)
