DC Bandipora constitutes NGO Coordination Cell for effective measures against COVID-19

Deputy Commissioner (DC), Bandipora, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza, constituted a district level coordination cell for effective coordination with local NGOs interested in providing  support in the ongoing campaign against spread of Corona virus infection, here today.Nodal Officer, with the DC, Bandipore, Mehraj-ud-Din Wani, has been nominated the head  of the Cell with Sajad Ahmad Rather and Altaf Ahmad Mir as members. The Cell will coordinate and rope in the support and services of the interested NG0s, as per their  specializations, strengths and will further deploy and assign them areas, as per requirement.DC, Bandipora said that the Cell was formed after several individuals, NGOs and  concerned organizations expressed desire to assist the district administration to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.A team for receiving and distributing Food kits and other ration to  stranded migrant labours and destitute, was also constituted by the DC.According to an order issued by the DC, Bandipore in the regard, Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari, SDM, Sumbal  will supervise the relief operations in Sumbal Sub Division along with Dr Iftikar, Nodal Officer, ISM, Firdous Ahmad, Tehsildar Sumbal, Abdul Ahad Raina,  Tehsildar Hajin, Bashir  Ahmad Sofi,  TSO , Mohammad Saleem Bhat, TSO.

At Bandipora, Mehraj-ud-Din Wani, will supervise the overall operations while Tehsildar Rouf Iqbal, Naveed Hussain Bhat, Abrar Anayat, Mir Tajamul and Mir Hidaytullah will  assist Wani in the operations.Besides, the teams will submit daily report to Assistant Director Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs regarding the details of receiving and  distributing ration and food kits. DC, Bandipora, on the occasion, said that the district administration has so far distributed around 1500 food packets containing rice, oil, pulses,  spices and other essentials among migrant labours, destitute and poor people of the district.He added that many NGOs and individuals have handed over food packets to the  district administration for distribution among the needy people. He said that by proper co ordination the Cell will yield better results on ground, to avoid duplicity in distribution of  relief.Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora , further said that in view of lockdown in the district, numerous people need help and in this regard General Manager, DIC, Bandipora, is  monitoring the supply of essential services to the needy and Mir Tajamul has been exclusively nominated as nodal officer for providing food and other essentials to the non-local  labours presently stuck in the district.
