COVID-19: District admin Rajouri provides ration to migrant families, labourers

District administration Rajouri is proactively responding to the grievances of labourers, street hawkers, destitute, slum dwellers and other affected families who have stuck in the  district and are facing difficulties for essential commodities in wake of country wide lockdown due to COVID-19 outbreak.District Magistrate, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh along with  the teams of dedicated officers including Additional Deputy Commissioner Sher Singh, Assistant Commissioner, Mohd Ashraf, District Panchayat Officer, Abdul Khabir, Tehsildar  Rajouri Sheraz Chouhan, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Angrez Singh and Assistant Director Food Civil Supplies and Consumers Affairs, Mukhtar Ahmed Lone visited Khoera,  Salani, Chhaprian, Malhar Mohalla, Ward No.08 Rajouri and other areas and distributed packets of ration among the Locals, migrant families, including labourers from outside UT,  slum dwellers, destitute and street hawkers.The DM said “the district administration is maintaining a close liaison with all the public representatives and is ensuring that ration,  water, electricity, and other essential commodities are provided to the affected families including migrants at their door step”. He further said that a dedicated administrative  control room has been established for the purpose of registration of the grievances. He said that all requisite arrangements   have been put in place across the district and people  need not to panic.He also maintained that there is buffer stock of essential commodities including ration, LPG and other essentials in the district.As per the information received  from the Assistant Labour Commissioner Rajouri a total of 273 families have been facilitated by the District Administration till date. The ration packets comprising rice, flour and  cooking oil, potatoes, onions, pulses etc were distributed among the families at various locations of the district.
