MP, MLAs, DC, CP and SSP exhort philanthropists to come forward for helping the needy and underprivileged sections

Public representatives and the officers of the district administration today called upon philanthropists to come forward for helping the needy and underprivileged people in society during the prevailing crisis in wake of Corona Virus.During a meeting here at the District Administrative Complex, Lok Sabha MP Chaudhary Santokh Singh, MLAs Mr Pargat Singh, Mr Rajinder Beri, Mr Sushil Kumar Rinku, Mr Avtar Singh Bawa Henry, Mr Hardev Singh Laddi and Chaudhary Surinder Singh, Congress leader Mr Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary, Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma, Commissioner of Police Mr Gurpreet Singh Bhullar and Senior Superintendent of Police Mr Navjot Singh Mahal today said that in wake of the crisis all the philanthropic societies and people must come forward and join hands to help the needy people.They said that the philanthropists must donate generously in the Chief Minister’s Covid relief fund or in District Relief fund to help the people. They said that it was the need of hour to ensure that needy people must be bailed out in this hour of crisis. They said that no one would be left unturned in this noble cause so that people must get succour at the earliest.The MP, MLAs, Deputy Commissioner, Commissioner of Police and Senior Superintendent of Police said that the state government led by Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh was committed for ensuring safety and security of the people besides containing the spread of Corona virus in the district. They assured the people that strenuous efforts were afoot to ensure that people do not face any sort of problem. They also exhorted the people to stay confined in their homes so that spread of Corona virus was checked at the earliest.The MP, MLAs, Deputy Commissioner, Commissioner of Police and Senior Superintendent of Police also warned the hoarders and profiteers that any sort of malpractice in the district would not be tolerated. They said that severest of severe action would be taken against such people flouting the norms.
