COVID-19 : DDC Pulwama for effective Mechanism to avert spread of Corona Virus

District Development Commissioner (DDC) Pulwama, Dr Raghav Langer called a meeting of District Surveillance Committee and District Level Zoonotic Committee regarding novel corona virus, here today.SSP Pulwama, SSP Awantipora ,ADCs of Pulwama, Tral and Awantipora , CPO, CMO, district officers and other concerned attended the meeting.Threadbare discussion was held regarding the implementation of precautionary measures in letter and spirit across the district.The meeting was informed about the various measures put in place to contain spread of infectious disease in the District.The meeting was informed that sufficient isolation and quarantine wards have been kept ready in all tehsils and screening camps equipped with doctors and technical staff has been setup at different locations including Railway stations, Toll Plaza and main entry points to the district.It was further informed that rapid response teams are on job to detect the individuals having travel history to effected countries besides, 24x7 control room is also functional at CMO office to assist the people.It was decided that all public transport shall remain suspended for time being in the district and special nakas have been established at different locations to restrict the movement of the travelers.

The Hotels, Restaurants, Gyms, parks and public places shall  also remain closed, it was further informed.Various mobile teams comprising of Drug, Revenue and Metrology departments are regularly checking the availability of masks and sanitizers in the district besides, monitoring the markets for over-pricing and hoarding of such essential items.The meeting was informed that various department are sensitizing people about the precautionary measures to be taken to avert the spread of Covid-19 through awareness camps, fumigation at public places, distributing soap dispensers, reading material regarding do’s and don’ts including broachers, leaflets, hand sanitizers  and masks.On the occasion, DC instructed the officers to work in tandem and keep a contingency plan ready for any eventuality. He reiterated that all the officials should work proactively in containing the Covid-19.He added that District and Sectoral Officers should ensure sanitation at their work places along with appropriate measures of hand washing facility and  sensitizing the public about the measures taken up to avert the spread of infectious disease. He also appealed the people to follow the advisory issued by the department of Health and Medical Education, in this regard.
