Kashmiri Pandit leader Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo called on Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu at the Raj Bhavan here today and put forth various demands and concerns of the Kashmiri Pandit community.Chrungoo submitted a memorandum of demands to the Lt Governor which includes practical and realistic implementable action plan for return of migrants to the valley and their settlement in view of their geo-political and fundamental aspirations, holding of delimitation process to give political reservation of five Assembly seats to Hindu-Sikh communities in the valley in Assembly constituencies in the Union Territory of J&K.He further demanded that a bill envisaging preservation, protection, promotion and management of Hindu temples and shrines in Kashmir be adopted by the UT Government in the immediate future, besides filling up of all remaining posts under PM package, one time compensation to the over aged candidates and many others.The Lt Governor gave a patient hearing to the issues and demands projected by the leader and assured him to address the genuine issues, and urged him to continue working towards promoting public welfare.
