Big boost for Aam Aadmi Party as several join party fold

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab on Wednesday got a big boost when leaders from various political parties and other organizations joined the party fold. They were given a rousing welcome by Leader of Opposition Harpal Singh Cheema, here on Wednesday, in the presence of several leaders of the party.In a statement from Chandigarh, Harpal Singh Cheema said that with the each passing day post the stellar performance of the party in the Delhi Assembly polls, people from various walks of life with clean image were joining the party to work in tandem with the leadership to help replicate the Delhi model in Punjab when it went for the polls in 2022.Prominent among those who, on Wednesday, joined the party included Gagandeep Singh Thareeke, senior vice-chairman Punjab (RTI Cell, Punjab Pradesh Congress), president, Citizen Development Organization, Thareeke (Ludhiana), Taranjit Singh Kohli, commandant (retd) CISF, Sikander Singh, DSP (Retd), Avtar Singh, O.P. Kalra,  Tej Partap Grover, Sevak Singh (Lambardar), Narinder Moudgill, Kamaljit Singh, Sub-inspector (Retd) Punjab Police), Dhanwant Singh (Panch), Thareeke village in the Ludhiana assembly constituency, along with many other supporters.Prominent faces from Mohali who walked into the party fold on the occasion were Vineet Verma, district president, Punjab Vyapar Mandal, Mohali, Presdient, Mohali Vikas Manch and an untiring social worker and several others.Those who joined the AAP from the Mansa assembly segment were Ramesh Khayala, member, Block Samiti, senior vice-president, Congress Committee, Harbans Singh Khalsa, Hartinder Singh Bittu and three others in the  presence of party leaders Master Varinder Soni, district general secretary (Mansa) and Parminder Kaur Smagh, district president (Mahila wing), Mansa.Others who were present on the occasion, included Garry Birring, party spokesman Govinder Mittal and other senior leaders of the party.
