While strongly condemning the cold-blooded murder of a youth Bashir Ahmad Bhat son of Mohammad Shafi Bhat Gratabal Nowkadal and injuring of other three people including a woman in the firing of Indian forces, chairman Hurriyat Conference (G), Syed Ali Geelani said that the martyrdom of the youth is very sad incident and a live picture of Indian autocracies and tyranny.According to a statement issued Geelani said that this incident is the enough proof of that the India want to convert the whole Kashmir into a silent graveyard. Paying rich tributes to the Shaheed Bashir Ahmad, Geelani said that the blood of innocent and unarmed people will Insha’Allah bring a change and we will definitely get the freedom from the clutches of India.

Geelani said that complete election boycott of Jammu and Kashmir people in which about 95% people stayed away from the so-called election, have frustrated the entire system from New Delhi to Srinagar, and now they are subjecting the entire population to the “political vengeance’ and they want to disturb the peaceful environment by arrests, harassment and other autocracies, so that they can get the chance to kill our innocent youth. The pro-freedom leader said that the youth especially students are provoked by unnecessary harassment, tortures in police stations, abuses and insults and they are pushed to wall and their carrier is ruined by fabricating them in false and fake FIR & cases. The entire military setups of India especially secret agencies are busy in silencing the just and peaceful political voice of Jammu and Kashmir by the use of brutal forces and violence for so-called ‘national interests’.

There is no relaxations in the age, from 12 years chap to the 50 years person, everybody is arrested, tortured and enlisted in different cases and FIR’s. The pro-freedom leader said that the police on the behest of the state administration are working under a well planned strategy to enlist the entire population of Jammu and Kashmir in the list of ‘Trouble Mongers’, so that they can start a full scale war against the unarmed and innocent people of Kashmir. Hurriyat Chairman said that after the illegal and forced occupation of Kashmir, India used every possible method especially its military might, tyranny, autocracies, tortures, technology, money and other incentives, to keep away the common man from the freedom movement, but they have miserably failed in their evil designs.

Geelani further said that our new and young generation is a challenge for the Indian rulers and their agents and employees in Kashmir. He said that there are only two ways in front of younger generation in Kashmir, either to remain silent and spent the life under the Indian slavery or to stand united and fight for the freedom from Indian oppression and live a dignified life where no fear, tortures, arrests and rapes will occur. He said that the people of Kashmir have never accepted the illegal and forced occupation of India and nor will they accept it in future. Kashmiris have every time showed courage and boldness to reject the Indian imperialism.

The pro-freedom leader once again thanked the people of Central Kashmir for their complete election boycott and appealed North Kashmir to follow the path of South and Central Kashmir and stay away from the so-called election process, which is going to be held on 7th May. He said that it is the moral, religious and political duty of the people of North Kashmir to completely boycott the election drama which will be the best homage to the martyrs and precious sacrifices of the whole nation. Geelani expressed his hope that the people of North Kashmir will respond to the call of Martyrs and will stay away from the said military operation. While reiterating his appeal for peaceful protest demonstrations after the Friday prayers against the martyrdom of Bashir Ahmad Bhat and the arrest spree of the pro-freedom people, Geelani appealed the preachers to highlight the atrocities of the Indian forces in Kashmir while delivering the Friday sermon.
