Administrative Secretaries take stock of public grievances at Civil Secretariat

As part of routine hearing of public grievances by the Administrative Secretaries, Principal Secretaries/Commissioner Secretaries today met with general public and panchayat representatives in their office chambers at Civil Secretariat.The public hearings were conducted by Principal Secretary Home Shaleen Kabra, Principal Secretary Housing & Urban Development, Dheeraj Gupta, Principal Secretary Planning, Development and Monitoring, Hospitality & Protocol, Estates and Civil Aviation & Information, Rohit Kansal, Commissioner/Secretary Labour and Employment Saurabh Bhagat, Commissioner/Secretary PHE, I&FC Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Secretary Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Sheetal Nanda, Special Secretary General Administration Department Farooq Ahmad Lone, Secretary Tourism & Culture Zubair Ahmad.A large number of deputations from across J&K met the Administrative Secretaries and highlighted their issues pertaining to H&UD, PHE, I&FC, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Tourism, Labour & Employment and General Administration Department.Principal Secretary HUDD Dheeraj Gupta met several deputations and individuals who highlighted their demands regarding various issues pertaining to the concerned departments and sought early redress of the same.A deputation from Rajinder Nagar, Bantalab Jammu demanded road metalling and construction of small bridge on the Nallah from Rajinder Nagar, JDA Housing Colony, Bantalab Jammu.A deputation from Swami Kashi Bub Trust Bantalab Jammu demanded exemption in construction of building permission fee for religious buildings, at par with Srinagar Municipal Corporation.

Other deputations from Gole Gujral, Housing Colony, Kot Bhalwal and Safai Karamchari Union, Urban Local Bodies, Kathua also put forth their demand regarding regularization of Safai Karamchari of Municipal Councils & Municipal Committees, at par with Municipal Corporation of other UTs, besides requesting for 2 and half days salary in favour of Safai Karamcharies.A deputation from Ward No. 26 or 33 Upper Shiv Nagar and Subash Nagar, Jammu brought to the notice of the Secretary that garbage of ward No.26 and 33 is not being collected by the municipality thereby creating a threat to the health of locals. They requested for resolution to this concern besides urging for regular maintenance of lanes and drains of this particular area.For concerns pertaining to PHE, I&FC departments, a number of individuals and deputations met Commissioner Secretary Sahu and raised concerns regarding jobs in exchange of land donated to PHE Department, release of funds against pending liabilities, settlement of pending final GP Fund.Residents of village Khowara, Ghagwal, Samba requested for restoration of drinking water supply to village Khowara, Ghagwal, Samba, a similar demand was raised by residents of Village Madana ward No. 06, Bari Brahmana, Samba, while inhabitants of Zaldoora, Rishi Pora, Anantnag requested for completion of project work sanctioned under NABARD PHE and reservoir at Dugdar Gundi, Nowroze.    Sarpanch/Naib Sarpanch of Phinder, Miran Sahib requested for sanction of grant for construction of Protection Bridge.Various contractors from different places met Secretary Rural Development Sheetal Nanda and discussed problems being faced by them due to delay in release of pending payments from Rural Development Department against the works completed, so far. Besides, several issues pertaining to Panchayati Raj were also brought forth by individuals and deputations.Several individuals and deputations, including Chairman, Hoteliers, Clubs of J&K and the founder The Harjais Rohtak also met the Secretary Tourism and discussed development of tourism in Jammu and Kashmir.The Administrative Secretaries assured the people that their genuine issues would be taken up on priority for redressal. They also gave directions to the concerned authorities to take appropriate action on the issues highlighted in the public hearings.
