Zila Parishad budget of Rs. 33 crore passed

"The Punjab Government is fully committed to provide a robust infrastructure at the grassroots level so as to ensure that the benefits of the development centric policies reach the common man without any problems."Disclosing this here today at the Zila Parishad Bhawan while chairing a meeting of the Zila Parishad, the Member of Parliament from Sri Anandpur Sahib Mr. Manish Tewari said that the Zila Parishads are playing a great role in carrying the pro development policy initiatives of the Government to the common people. Mr. Manish Tewari exhorted the Zila Parishad office bearers to focus on generating alternate sources of income apart from the rental income so as to ensure that the various development oriented works such as the strengthening of the road berms, Providing adequate medicines in the dispensaries, Carrying out projects under MGNREGA besides others could be undertaken. On the occasion, the budget of the Zila Parishad worth Rs. 33,68,64,824 was passed.On the occasion, while representing the Health and Family Welfare Minister, Punjab, Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu-- His Political Secretary Mr. Harkesh Chand Sharma Machhli presented the vote of thanks.Among others present on the occasion included the Chairperson Zila Parishad Mrs. Jaswinder Kaur Durali, DC Mrs. Aashika Jain, Chairman Punjab Large Industries Development Board Mr. Pawan Diwan, Members of the Zila Parishad including Mohan Singh Bathlana, Ranvir Kaur.
