Balbir Singh Sidhu hands over cheques worth Rs. 37.50 lakh for drainage of polluted water

"The all round development of the rural areas at par with the cities is an article of faith with the Punjab Government as their prosperity on the developmental index is linked directly to the progress of Punjab." These views were expressed by the Health and Family Welfare, Labour Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu while handing over the cheques worth Rs. 37.50 Lakh to the village panchayat of Jujhar Nagar for the drainage of polluted water. On the occasion, Mr. Sidhu further said that ensuring cleanliness would also lead to the robust health of the people of the State which is one of the key objectives of the Mission Tandarust Punjab.Out of the total amount of Rs. 37.50 lakh, Rs. 27.50 lakh have been given by Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu while the rest of the amount of Rs. 10 lakh is the contribution of Sri Anandpur Sahib MP Mr. Manish Tewari. Among others present on the occasion included the Political Secretary to the minister -- Mr. Harkesh Chand Sharma Machhli Kalan, Sarpanch of Jujhar Nagar Mr. Gurpreet Singh Dhindsa, Vijay Lakshmi, Bimla Devi, Naaro Devi, Gurwinder Kaur, Sukhwinder Kaur, Maninder Singh Manna, Joginder Singh, Darshan Singh (All Panches), Amarjit Singh Moni, Chairman Land Mortgage Bank Kharar Dharam Singh Saini, Parminder Singh, Salman Khan, Pawan Vij and Jasbir Singh.
