Director Horticulture chairs officers meeting

Director Horticulture Kashmir, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat convened a meeting of Chief Horticulture officers of Kashmir Division, here today.Reviewing scheme-wise progress made during the year 2019-20, the Director asked all the Chief Horticulture Officers to ensure cent percent utilization of funds to achieve set targets.The meeting also discussed Backyard Horticulture (BH) scheme under which fruit plants will be provided to the people at 90% subsidy, for which district wise schedule has been prepared.Under the BH scheme, fruit plants will be distributed in Anantnag on February 24, 25 and 26, in Kulgam on February 27, 28 and 29, in Pulwama on March 2, 3 and 4, in Shopian on March 5, 6 and 7, in Baramulla on March 2, 3 and 4, in Bandipora on March 5, 6 and 7, in Kupwara on March 10, 11 and 12, in Ganderbal on February 22, 24 and 25 and in Budgam on February 26, 27 ,28 and 29.The Director urged the growers to adhere to the spray schedule (Mineral oils, pesticides and fertilizers) recommended by the SKUAST Kashmir and Department of Horticulture in letter and spirit.
