Director Social Justice Reiterates Firm Commitment Of Punjab Government To Implement Post Matric Scholarship Scheme In Right Earnest

Director Social Justice and Empowerment Mr. Malwinder Singh Jaggi today reiterated the firm commitment of the state government to implement the post matric scholarship scheme in the right earnest.Chairing a meeting here with the representatives of the students here at the conference hall of the District Administrative Complex, the Director, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, said that he had noted the problems faced by students under the scheme by having a direct meeting with them. He said that all the issues raised would be minutely studied for ensuring the welfare of the students. Mr Jaggi said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh was committed for implementing the scheme in the right earnest.The Director further assured the students that the state government would safeguard their interests at all costs. He said that all out efforts would be made to make sure that the students get the full benefits of scheme. Mr. Jaggi further assured the students that all of their genuine demands would be accepted and implemented by the state government.The Director said that the loopholes, if any, in the effective implementation of the scheme would also be removed. He asked the students to concentrate on their academic career the state government was fully committed to implement this scheme at every cost. Mr. Jaggi also said that strict action would be taken against any educational institution harassing the students without any reason. Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police briefed the Director about the problem being faced by the students. They also said that the administration had been making concerted efforts to ensure that interests of the students were secured. Both the officers also said that the state government was very serious on resolving this issue due to which Principal Secretary Social Justice Mr. Kirpa Shankar Saroj would be visiting the district on Monday, February 24.On the occasion, the Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Jasbir Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. Balkar Singh, Sub Divisional Magistrates Mr. Rahul Sindhu and Dr. Jai Inder Singh, Assistant Commissioner Mr. Varjit Walia, District Welfare Officer Mr. Rajinder Singh, Tehsil Welfare Officer Ms. Sarabjit Kaur and others.
