Stresses on coordinated efforts to ensure smooth conduct of polls

District Election Officer (DEO) Bandipora, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza Friday convened a meeting of district nodal officers and other concerned to review the preparations for smooth conduct of the upcoming Panchayat by-elections.The meeting was informed that the elections would be held for 45 vacant Panchayat Halqas and 603 vacant Panch constituencies of 9 blocks of Bandipora district for which the process of designation of ROs and AROs has been completed and are being trained in various aspects of the poll process. It was given out that administration is going to launch a sustained campaign to sensitize voters about the importance of these elections for socio-economic development at the gross root level.The meeting was informed about the arrangements put in place for the smooth conduct of the elections including constitution of M C C, Expenditure and Media Monitoring committees.On the occasion DEO asked thedesignated ROs, AROs to work in close coordination with the administration for smooth conduct of the polls.Earlier the  District Election Office conducted a training session for the ROs and AROs wherein the trainers informed the audience about various stages of the election process and the role and responsibilities of the ROs and AROs.
