To create awareness about Safe Abortion among general community is an important role of the representative of the Media. This was stated  by Sardar Balbir Singh Sidhu, Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Punjab, while inaugurated the one day Workshop on  Media Sensitization  on how to talk about Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (A special focus on Abortion) organized by the Family Planning Association of India, Mohali Branch. He further stated that FPAI being a non government organization is doing its responsibilities in this cause, towards the welfare of the community.Shri I.P.S. Bajwa, President, Family Planning Association of India, Mohali Branch welcomed the chief guest and representatives of Media and Government representatives.  He also spoke on the objective of the workshop and the activities of the Mohali Branch.Dr. Manjit Singh, Civil Surgeon, Mohali spoke about the facilities of safe abortion  in government hospitals.Dr. Vaneet Nagpal, MD Gyne, Civil Hospital, Mohali informed  about the  Legality of abortion specially on MTP Act.  Dr. Harpreet Kaur, MD, Gyne, Sub-Divisional Hospital, Derabassi updated the knowledge on safe Abortion.   Dr. Neha, MD Gyne, Sub-Divisional Hospital, Kharar spoke on about Availability of Safe Abortion Services.Besides above, Mr. Vinod Kapur, President, FPAI, Panchkula Branch and Member Central Executive Committee National Headquarters, spoke on referral points for Abortion Services and role of Media in Health Services.At the end Mrs. Neelam Kohli, Vice President, FPAI, Mohali Branch summed up the workshop and thanks the media persons and doctors for participating in the workshop.
