177 Cases settled in National Lok Adalat held in Udhampur

A National Lok Adalat was organized by District Legal Services Authority Udhampur in District Court Complex today under the chairmanship of Mohan Lal Manhas, Chairman District Legal Services Authority (Principal District and Sessions Judge) Udhampur.A total number of six benches were constituted. The first bench was presided over by Mohan Lal Manhas, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Udhampur and assisted by Advocate Vijay Lakshmi. The second Bench was presided over by Shoba Ram Gandhi Additional District and Sessions Judge, Udhampur and assisted by Advocate Shallu Khajuria.The third Bench was headed by Chief Judicial Magistrate Mohd Rafiq Chak and assisted by Girja Shavan Additional Special Mobile Magistrate, Udhampur where as the fourth bench was headed by Archana Charak Sub Judge Ramnagar and Advocate K.D Singh.Similarly, fifth bench was headed by Munsiff Amandep Kour and assisted by Advocate Tariq Mughal and the sixth bench was headed by Priyanka Gupta Munsiff Majalta and Saidiq Saleem Tehsildar Majalta .A total of 233 cases of different nature were taken up, out of which 177 cases were settled on the spot. Total of 29, 79,200 were realized in different cases settled on spot.An amount of Rs 22, 05000 was awarded as compensation in MACT cases while a total of Rs 2, 7500/- was realized in various bank cases. Rs 3, 90000/ 13 N.I Act cases .Besides, fine amounting Rs 1, 09200 was realized in respect of various criminal compoundable cases.Lok Adalats were also organized at Tehsil headquarters, Ramnagar, Chenani and Majalta.
