DDC Rajouri reviews preparedness regarding prevention of Novel CoronaVirus

District Development Commissioner Mohammad Nazir Sheikh today convened a meeting with the concerned officers of Health Department, Education, Sheep Husbandry, Animal  Husbandry and other departments to discuss the action plan to check the spread of CoronaVirus and to contain the outbreak of the virus in the district.The meeting was attended  by Principal GMC Rajouri, Kuldeep Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kalakote, Krishan Lal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sunderbani, Vinod Kumar Behnal, Additional  Deputy Commissioner Nowshera, Sukhdev Singh Samyal, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Koteranka, Surinder Mohan Sharma Additional SP Rajouri, Liyaqat Choudhary, Chief  Medical Officer Dr. Sanjeev Puri, Assistant Commissioner Development, Sushil Khajuria, Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr. Anees Altaf Nabi, District ASHA Coordinator, Dr. Farooq  Mir, District Immunization Officer, Dr. Shakti Kumar, DSHO, Dr. Sarfraz Naseem, District TB officer and other concerned officers.DDC asked the Health authorities for designating  of rapid response teams, enhancement of surveillance and earmarking isolation wards at the District and Sub District Hospital and carrying of the IEC activities to aware the  general public.The Chief Medical Officers informed that 08 Rapid Response teams have been constituted in the district including GMC Rajouri, CHCs and CMO office Rajouri. He  further informed that isolation wards of 5- 10 beds have been established at GMC and CHCs.Regarding the IEC activities, he said ASHA workers will be sensitised about various  aspects of the virus who in turn will generate mass awareness among the general public in this regard.DDC asked CMO to send teams of doctors in the schools and who will  make students aware of Virus, its symptoms, preventive measures. He asked to make functional a 24*7 helpline number in CMO office at the earliest.
