Exhorts them to work with renewed vigour for eliminating drugs

"Drugs are a menace to the society and their elimination is necessary to create a healthy and robust Punjab as per the objectives of Mission Tandarust Punjab."Expressing these views here today at the District Administrative Complex on the occasion of honouring Drug Abuse Prevention Officers (DAPOs), the Deputy Commissioner, S. A. S. Nagar Mr. Girish Dayalan said that the role of DAPOs assumes great significance in the war against drugs and they have rendred yeoman's service in the mission to rid Punjab of the drug menace.Exhorting them to work with the  renewed vigour for complete eradication of the drugs, the Deputy Commissioner asked them to take the task as a scared mission. He also appreciated the role of BUDDY groups in inspiring the students of Schools, Colleges and Universities in giving the war against drugs a shape of people's movement.The representatives from the Bakarpur and Barsalpur villages panchayats appreciated the role played by the Punjab Government in eliminating drugs. On the occasion, student representatives from the BUDDY groups shared their experiences in propagating the drug elimination movement to the  grassroots level.
