DG SWD tours Udhampur, inspects functioning of Bal Ashram, Nari Niketan

Director General, Social Welfare Department, Rehana Batul today conducted an extensive tour of Udhampur district to inspect functioning of various Non Government Organizations including ASHA School for Disabled, Jagiriti Old Age Home and directed for expeditious processing of their Grant-in -Aid cases for financial year 2019-20. Chief Accounts Officer, Archana Kumari, Assistant Director, Kailash Devi, District  Social Welfare Officer, Sana Khan and other staff members were present during the inspections.During her visit to Bal Ashram and Nari Niketan, the Director General distributed various commodities and games among the inmates.Interacting with the children, she motivated them to work hard in academic arena while keeping equal focus on extracurricular activities.Later, the Director General chaired a review meeting of District and Tehsil officers to take stock of financial and physical achievements registered under various schemes in the district including National Social Assistance Programme, Integrated Social Security Scheme, Pre Matric/ Post Matric Scholarship Schemes, Grant in Aid for NGOs, State Marriage Assistance Scheme.
