The formal process to set up a 105 Kilowatt solar power plant at Civil Hospital Sangrur has been set in motion. The Deputy Commissioner Sangrur Mr. Ghanshyam Thori today inked an MoU on behalf of the State Government with the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (Northern Region Pipelines) at the District Administrative Complex.The Deputy Commissioner and other officers held discussions with regard to the MoU with the Executive Director Indian Oil Mr. Vipan Chandra and afterwards, the Deputy Commissioner and the Executive Director of the Indian Oil inked an MoU regarding providing Rs. 50 lakh under the Corporate Social Responsibility in connection with the 105 kilowatt solar power plant.In his address on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner while thanking the corporation officials, said that this initiative would result in reduction of the power bills besides saving the Government funds by using solar energy. He also added that this plant would be set up on the rooftop of the Civil Hospital Sangrur which would lead to the main building of the hospital, nursing college and tubewell getting power supply.The Deputy Commissioner also divulged that the PWD would the nodal agency for the project. The Executive Director Mr. Vipan Chandra Satti on the occasion appreciated the efforts made by the District Administration in this regard.Among other dignitaries present on the occasion included DGM Jalandhar of the Corporation Mr. Jasjit Singh, Chief Manager CSR Panipat Mr. Vidya Sagar, Senior Manager Sangrur Mr. Ratan Kumar, ADC Mr. Rajesh Tripathi, Assistant Commissioner Mr. Ankur Mohindroo, Civil Surgeon Dr. Raj Kumar, Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Ahuja, Senior Medical Officer Dr. Kirpal Singh, District Health Officer Dr. Sukhwinder Singh, XEN PWD Mr. Vipan Bansal.
