DIPR organizes Cultural Programat Baramulla

One-day event aimed at imbibing the spirit of Fundamental Duties among Citizens

The Cultural Wing of Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) Kashmir in collaboration with District Information Centre Baramulla and Hope Disability Centre today organized a cultural program here at Sheerwani Community Hall.Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo was the chief guest.The programme was organized with a view to imbibe the spirit of Fundamental Duties of the constitution among the citizens.On the occasion, an array of cultural items ranging from traditional folklore to Mehfil-e-Musharia were presented by various artists which enthralled the audience.In his valedictory address, District Information Officer Baramulla Mudassir Hussain said the aim of organizing such cultural programmes is to portray the rich Kashmiri culture and tradition besides renewing efforts for its preservation.He highlighted various activities being carried out by Information Department for the betterment of the society.Deputy Commissioner in his address complimented the Information Department and other participants for organizing such programmes and said that such events should mainly focus on disseminating awareness regarding environmental conservation.He said that the traditional Kashmiri culture and customs act as a better medium through which the people can be educated efficiently regarding their rights and duties. Moreover, he said the district administration will explore possibilities for promotion of rich art and cultural heritage in the district.Among others, GoC 46 RR, Cultural Officer Kashmir Reyaz Ahmad Fazali, District and Sectoral officers, PRI representatives, senior journalists, civil society members and other prominent sections of the society were present on the occasion.
