DDC tours Kokernag sub-division, takes stock of essentials services

10:The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, Mr. Khalid Jahangir today visited Kokernag sub-division to take stock of essentials services in the district.SDM Kokernag, SE PDD, ACD, CMO Anantnag, Engineers of PMGSY, PHE & R&B, Tehsildars & BDOs of Kokernag & Larnoo, BMO Kokernag and other officers accompanied the DDC.The DDC asked the officers to gear up men and machinery to meet any whether exigency.On his visit to Sub District Hospital Kokernag, the DDC interacted with the patients and enquired about the facilities available at the health institute. He directed the CMO to ensure availability of doctors & paramedical staff and other facilities for the convenience of the patients.During the tour, the DDC directed PHE department to assess the drinking water problem in the villages of Adigam and Saof Shali Hakqa C, besides ensuring implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in Gognard. He also directed the concerned to complete base survey for JJM in the Kokernag Sub Division within the given timeframe.He directed the R&B Department to take proper care of roads including Magam – Sundbrari road in the entire Sub Division. SDM Kokernag informed the DDC that all the Jamabandis of Larnu & Kokernag tehsils have been completed.Enroute, the DDC interacted with the locals who put forth their demands with regard to water, power, road connectivity and healthcare. He assured redressal of their genuine grievances on priority.Interacting with the locals in Dandipora, the DDC assured them thatsteps for augmenting power supply in the area are afoot.He further directed SE PDD to provide 250 KV power Transformer at Kokernag at an earliest. He was informed that new transformers with higher capacity have been installed at Adhal and Drawai recently.
