DDC Shopian reviews implementation of JJM

District Development Commissioner Shopian Choudhary Mohammad Yasin today convened a meeting of engineers and officers to review the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the district. Among others SE Hydraulic, Executive Engineer Mechanical, Executive Engineer PHE, AEEs, AEs, JEs and other concerned officers and officials of the district were present.Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that Jal Jeevan Mission is centrally sponsored scheme launched by the government of India with the objective to provide tap water to all households across the nation.The DDC directed field functionaries of PHE Department to come up with DPRs and ensure no household is left without tap water connection in the district.He advised the PRI members to cooperate with the Department in completing the survey at the earliest.The DDC asked the concerned to identify the water resources with community participation and exhorted the officers of the PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control departments to ensure effective implementation of the government schemes in letter and spirit in the district.The DDC also said that Jal Jeevan Mission has been rolled out to provide 55 litres of drinking water per person per day.
