Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Khalid Jahangir today convened a meeting to review arrangements for Republic Day celebrations.The DC asked the concerned to synergise efforts to celebrate national function in a manner so that the younger generation remembers the constitutional sanctity of democratic governance.The meeting was informed that the contingents of JKP, IRP, CRPF, Auxiliary Police, Fire & Emergency Services, NCC cadets and school children will participate in the march past. While cultural programmes also will be presented.The CEO informed the meeting that 10 contingents from government schools are going to participate in the march past parade and 14 cultural programmes are being presented by school children on the occasion.Regarding cleanliness and sanitation in and around the venue, the DC directed the officers of Municipality and R&B department to deploy the requisite manpower for rehearsal and main function. The Chief Medical Officer, Anantnag was directed to set upa Medical Aid Camp with ambulance service, doctors, paramedics and life-saving drugs available at the venue.The meeting also reviewed seating arrangements, barricading of venue, drinking water and electricity facilities besides heating arrangements.The ARTO was directed to arrange transport facility for the children for rehearsal and main function. It was also given out in the meeting that similar functions will be held at Sub Divisions of Pahalgam, Doru, Kokernag and Bijbehara besides at Tehsil headquarters of the district.The meeting was attended by ADCs, Addl. SP Anantnag, SDMs of Doru, Pahalgam, Kokernag, Bijbehara, Chief Education Officer, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, ARTO, DYSSO, Exens of R&B, Anantnag, PHE, PDD, MED, DYSSO, Tehsildars and other concerned.
