Former Minister Abdul Gani Kohli meets Lt Governor

Er. Abdul Gani Kohli, former Minister met the Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu today here at the Raj Bhavan.The former Minister projected various issues and demands to the Lt Governor related to the welfare of the Gujjar & Bakarwal communities including compensation to the Gujjars & Bakarwals of Rajouri-Poonch areas for the loss of live-stock due to shelling, rain and snowfall, free transportation to nomadic Gujjars & Bakarwals, speedy completion of Eklavya Model Residential Schools for tribal students besides political reservation and effective implementation of various welfare schemes and better education for Gujjars & Bakarwals.The Lt Governor assured the former Minister that the issues projected by him will be taken up for examination and early redressal. He observed that the present Government is committed to work towards the welfare of tribal communities and he has passed various directions in this regard in a recently held meeting. The Lt Governor urged the former Minister to continue his sustained endeavours for promoting the welfare of tribal communities.
