DC directs officers to achieve desired target of recoveries during current fiscal

Asks officers to maximise field visits to resolve issues faced by people

Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Kulwant Singh today asked the Revenue officers to achieve the set targets of Revenue collection before the end of current fiscal.Chairing a review meeting here at the District Administrative Complex, the Deputy Commissioner, accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr Jasbir Singh, unequivocally said that any sort of laxity in this work was totally unwarranted and undesirable. He said that the set targets must be achieved within the stipulated time period for which no stone should be left unturned. Mr Kulwant Singh categorically said that severest of severe action would be taken against the officers who fail to perform their duty well.The Deputy Commissioner said that the progress by Revenue officers was being constantly monitored by the higher ups and strict action would be taken against erring officers. He further said that the Revenue officers were duty-bound to ensure the recovery of pending arrears from the wilful defaulters at the earliest. Mr Kulwant Singh said that wilful defaulters should not be allowed to take the law for granted and every effort must be made to recover the pending arrears from them at the earliest.The Deputy Commissioner also asked the officers to maximise field inspections in their respective jurisdiction to resolve the issues faced by the people. Mr Kulwant Singh said that the officers were duty-bound to perform their duty diligently and any callousness in this would not be tolerated. He asked all the officers to perform their duty well and serve the people with full integrity.On the occasion Sub Divisional Magistrates Mr Amit Kumar, Mr Rahul Sindhu, Dr Sanjiv Sharma, Dr Jai Inder Singh and Mr Vineet Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Dr Shayari Malhotra, District Revenue Officer Mr Jashanjeet Singh and others were also present.
