MC Kharar started online delivery of organic manure : Girish Dayalan

Becomes North India’s first ULB delivering organic compost at your doorstep as per requirement

Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan today informed that Municipal Council, Kharar has started accepting online orders from residents to deliver organic compost at their doorsteps.Disclosing this, he said that after receiving tremendous response from Kharar residents for “Take Selfie with Segregated Waste and get Free Organic Compost” campaign, MC Kharar has become the first council in North India to start taking online orders from residents to deliver organic compost, manufactured at MC Compost Unit, at resident’s doorsteps.Mr. Dayalan explained that on the pattern of Amazon and other online portals, the council has decided to offer hassle-free delivery of organic compost since Kharar sanitation staff has 100 per cent coverage of the city. “Residents have to send their organic compost demand with their name, address and phone Number with required compost quantity at MC’s email to mck.kharar@yahoo.co.in”, he said, adding that after checking the order, an officer will contact the residents immediately and will deliver the organic compost at their door-steps. He said that organic manure has been tested in government approved laboratory and receive excellent results for nutrient values. The same compost has been selling at Rs.30 per kg at private nurseries, while MC Kharar has fixed the rate Rs.10 per kg with free delivery to Kharar resident. The Deputy Commissioner asked the residents to support this Kharar’s unique initiative by coming forward to place online orders of their compost.Meanwhile, Mr. Kulbir Singh Brar, Executive Officer, Kharar said that for the success of this project, the Deputy Commissioner Mr. Girish Dayalan and SDM Kharar Mr. Himanshu Jain have been directly monitoring the program. The officer mentioned that total of 10 tons compost has been delivered to the Kharar residents so far and will further continue to make residents’ garden colourful and lush green.
