DDC Reviews Power Scenario in Kupwara

The District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Anshul Garg today chaired a meeting to review the progress and pace of work made by Power Development (PDD). The meeting discussed operationalization of Arampora Khumriyal Line, operationalization of Ganapora to Arampora grid line, status of gen set and fuel in Keran and Machil areas, replacement of 10MVA transformer for Kupwara to and execution of works under Back to Village Programme.Executive Engineer STD, Executive Engineers PDD Division Kupwara and Handwara, AEEs and other concerned attended the meeting.On the occasion, the DDC passed on various directions to the concerned, to improve the overall power scenario of the district.  He directed for stabilization of old Kupwara line route for augmentation of Khumriyal grid so that the people from Lolab and Machil areas will get benefitted. He also directed Executive Engineer Kupwara to submit the detailed project report of Arampora Khumriyal line route for administrative approval.

The PDD authorities informed the meeting that 10MVA transformer has been procured and will be installed in Kupwara Town to improve the power scenario.The DDC also took a detailed review of works being executed under Back to Village Programme. He directed the concerned Engineers to install already sanctioned transformers while prioritizing Community Centres, PHCs and Schools.The Executive Engineer, Handwara, informed that 100 per cent material under B2V Scheme has been procured and bills for the same have been sent to higher authorities for payment.The DDC, said that the transformers damaged during winter should be restored under SDRF.
