DC Rajouri holds introductory meeting with the prominent citizens, civil societies

Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Nazir Sheikh today convened an introductory meeting with civil society members and prominent citizens drawn from various walks like.Along with others former Legislators, former VC PAB, Retired Civil Servants, Doctors, Professors, President Beopar Mandal, President MC Thanamandi, Administrator Aquaf Shahdara Sherif, religious leaders and social activists were present in the meeting.The civil society members put forward the core issues and problems being faced by them related to Health, Education, connectivity, unscheduled power cuts, irregular water supply, insufficient space for the parking, identification of a suitable place for the disposal of solid waste, delay in the execution of work on sports stadium Kheora, sanctioning of old age and widow pension and fixation of rates of essential commodities.The Deputy Commissioner underlined the role of civil society in ensuring a proactive and participative administration. He also sought the cooperation in dealing with vital issues of public importance. He said that District Administration shall ensure that all the basic facilities are provided to the general public at their doorsteps so that they don't feel any inconvenience.He added that all their genuine demands and issues shall be taken care of and will be redressed in a phased manner. He also said that all possible steps shall be taken for ensuring smooth public delivery system.The members of the civil society also assured full cooperation to the district administration in taking district forward in developmental front. They also appreciated the steps already initiated by the district administration to check absenteeism in Government offices and improving the functioning of health institutions. They also hailed the effort of Deputy Commissioner for start of work on Bela Road.Senior Superintendent of Police Yougal Manhas, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sher Singh and Deputy Director Planning, Bilal Rashid Mir also attended the meeting.
