Mega Cancer checkup camp held in Central Jail, over 1000 inmates receive treatment

For ensuring that the inmates stay in the best of health, A mega medical camp on Cancer was organised in the premises of Central Jail by the teams of specialist doctors from World Cancer Care and Civil Hospital Kapurthala on Thursday. During the camp, over 1000 inmates were examined and given prescriptions and free medicines. 6 vans of World Cancer Care and 42 doctors rendered their services during the camp.District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman DLSA Kapurthala Mr. Kishore Kumar and Deputy Commissioner Mr. DPS Kharbanda inaugurated the camp and invited the inmates to make use of the facility. They even conducted their own checkup during the camp. On the occasion, The Superintendent of Jail Mr. SP Khanna stated that the camp has eased the problem of escorting huge numbers of prisoners to specialised hospitals. He also expressed special thanks to World Cancer Care and Civil Hospital in conducting this camp with services of medical officers. CJM Mr. Ajit Pal Singh, SDM Mr. Varinder Pal Singh Bajwa, Civil Surgeon Dr. Jasmeet Bawa, DSP Mr Harinder Singh Gill, Dr. Dharminder Dhillon, Dr. Navneet Kaur and  other doctors of World Cancer care and Civil Hospital and  jail officials were present.
