DDC Anantnag reviews functioning of NRLM Scheme

District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Khalid Jahangir today convened a meeting of officer to review the functioning of NRLM Scheme in the district.Block Manager NRLM present a comprehensive Power Point Presentation informing the meeting about implementation of the NRLM Scheme including the coverage status of households, village organisations, Self Help Group revolving fund, rotation of money, setting community protocols, financial and physical progress, bank linkage status and social security schemes.The meeting was informed that savings worth Rs 482.28 lacs have been made till date by SHGS, besides, 1923 SHGs have availed credit linkage from banks availing a loan of Rs. 1829 lacs.It was given out that 23407 bank accounts of SHG members have been opened and 120 Village organisations out of 357 have been made self -sustainable. In addition, 27172 households have been covered under the scheme of 323 villages.Speaking on the occasion, the DDC stressed upon the NRLM functionaries to work in coordination with concerned departments and banks to achieve 100 percent coverage under the scheme besides involving the PRIs and other field functionaries of concerned departments to disseminate information about the scheme.He asked for incentivising best performing SHGs and added that the scheme has a great potential to strengthen the economic condition of the rural folk, therefore, special efforts needs to be done to achieve the targets.ACD, CAO, CHO, CAHO, Dy. Sericulture, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, AD Handicrafts &handlooms, LDM J&K Bank, District coordinator JKEDI and Block managers of NRLM attended the meeting.
