Div Com Jammu visits Rajouri, inspects progress of work on GMC Rajouri, Sports Stadium Kheora

Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma today inspected major developmental works in district Rajouri including GMC Rajouri and Sports Stadium Kheora.He was accompanied by District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh and senior officers of the concerned departments.Divisional Commissioner was informed that the work on GMC is being executed by the PWD with an estimated cost of Rs.139 crore and progress on the administrative block of the GMC is in full swing which would be completed by March 2020. He was further informed that the work on the hostel blocks is also in progress. So far as beautification Project is concerned, it was informed that DPR has been submitted for approval.Divisional Commissioner also reviewed availability of drinking water and power supply in the building and asked the PWD engineers to install solar panels.The Div Com impressed upon the executing agencies to gear up men and machinery for timely completion of the vital project to provide enhanced medical facilities to the people of Rajouri, Poonch and Reasi.

Later, the Divisional Commissioner also inspected the pace of work on upcoming Sports Stadium Kheora being executed by PWD. The Div Com was informed that the work on indoor and outdoor stadium is at the final stage and would be completed by the end of the current month. It was informed that the construction cost of indoor and outdoor stadium was approved under languishing projects scheme at an estimated cost of 5.64 crore. The concerned officers informed that the Indoor Stadium has the facility of badminton, tennis and skating.The Divisional Commissioner directed the concerned officers to speed up the work and strictly adhere to the specifications and deadlines in the construction cum completion of the projects. He emphasised on ensuring the quality of work. He also directed the PWD to develop a parking site in the premises of the Sports Stadium at a suitable place.
