Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur launched ‘Prachand Samay’, daily newspaper being published from Shimla by senior journalist Ashwani Verma, here today.Chief Minister said that newspapers play an important role in disseminating the policies and programmes of the State government. He said that it also make us aware about the happenings occurred across the world. Therefore, it is called the fourth pillar of democracy, he added.Jai Ram Thakur expressed hope that Prachand Samay would uphold the high values of journalism and give due representation to the news of the Pradesh.Editor of Newspaper Ashwani Verma, senior journalists Krishan Bhanu, Dr. Shashi Bhushan, Anil Kimta, D.D. Gupta, Arvind Kumar and others were also present on the occasion.
