Visiting Officers inaugurate 101 development works

The 2nd phase of ‘Back to Village’ culminated here today in 100 Panchayat halqas of the district with the visiting officers assessing the development concerns and needs of thee people. The visiting officers along with other frontline workers and government functionaries visited their designated Panchayats to interact with the people regarding development scenario in their respective areas. They briefed the people about various schemes launched by the government for their welfare and development. They also convened interaction with the PRI members, retired Government servants, senior citizens, social workers and other prominent persons of the panchayats and had feedback regarding B2V1 and status of basic amenities like roads, healthcare, sanitation, drinking water facilities. The visiting officers also gathered information related to implementation of the schemes like Aysuhman Bharat, PM-KISAN besides collecting feedback on progress of works initiated after the culmination of B2V1. Director, Urban Local Bodies,Jammu Veer Ji Hangloo, Visiting Officer for Panchayat Halqa Chawla, inaugurated a motorable bridge and 12 Houses constructed under PMAY scheme. Besides, the visiting officer also inaugurated 101 development works pertaining to RDD and other departments including 59 PMAY houses, 20 tractor roads, 2 motorable Bridge/culvert, 3 Ponds, 2 Dug wells, 3 check dams, 1 playground and 3 bridal paths.

Meanwhile, the day 4 of the ambitious programme was marked with massive awareness on government schemes in various panchayats of the district. As part of the programme, District Development Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad distributed school bags and other stationery items among poor girl students of Siot Panchayat during a function organised by MSK and OSC Rajouri under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme. DDC said BBBP intends to attain balanced child sex ratio at birth by focusing on the education of young girls through community driven practices. He briefed the public that One stop centre for women and Mahila Shakti Kendra have been established in the district with the sole purpose of strengthening and empowering the female fraternity. Meanwhile, DDC also provided financial assistance of Rs. 64,500 to children of labourers working in the unorganised sector. The scholarship has been provided by the Labour Department Rajouri under the scheme of Jammu and Kashmir Building and Other Construction Welfare Board. Later, Assistant Labour Commissioner Rajouri Angrez Singh, distributed 48 labour cards among eligible beneficiaries. He also highlighted various schemes being implemented by the Labour Department.
