Day-3 of Back to Village- 2: Gram Sabhas, dev works inaugurated in Baramulla

As part of the second phase of ‘Back to Village’ programme, several developmental activities were carried out on the third day of public outreach programme.At Seloo Village of Sopore area, Special Secretary PDD, Hashmat Ali Yatoo (Visiting Officer) inaugurated a sub-health centre besides laid foundation for several drains and link road works. He also laid the foundation stone of an abattoir which was long pending demand of locals.Meanwhile, a Gram Sabha was also organized at Seloo village wherein locals sought redressal of their development related issues.Speaking on the occasion, the Visiting Officer highlighted the objectives of the programme and said that the programme is a milestone in achieving rural development besides listening to the grievances and issues of rural folk at their doorstep.He stressed upon the people to avail the benefits under the programme. He further said that major thrust area of the programme would be to assess the progress in follow-up of decisions taken in first phase of ‘Back to Village’ programme.At Delina, District Development Commissioner, Baramulla Dr G N Itoo and Director General Accounts and Treasuries, Mohammad Yousuf Pandith (visiting officer) carried out several social and developmental activities meant for the overall welfare of the area.A Gram Sabha was also convened in which locals appraised the dignitaries about their grievances and demands. The visiting officials assured the public that all of their projected issues and demands would be looked into and addressed on priority.
