Day 2 of Back to Village 2, Anantnag : 29 works inaugurated, foundation stones for 59 works laid in 03 blocks

On the second day of the “Back to Village” Phase-II programme (B2V2), District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, Khalid Jahangir visited Zalangam, Wandiwalgam, Adhal, Frenho, Luhur Sinzi, and Dandipora Panchayat Halqas of Sub Division Kokernag to take stock of the activities and programmes being carried out.The DDC stressed upon the officers to prioritize the works of immediate need in all the halqas and demands raised in B2V1 this year. People demanded availability of water round the clock, uninterrupted power supply, issuance of ration cards for left out families, road connectivity, construction of play fields, initiating the process of providing Golden Cards in Health Insurance, SBM & PMAY coverage, power transformers with poles and establishing sheep units.At Panchayat Halqa Wandiwalgam, the DDC distributed books among School children in presence of the Visiting Officer of said Panchayat Halqa DG Social Welfare, Rukhsana Gani. The DDC also handed over a Paddy Thrasher to the said Panchayat through Agriculture Department Anantnag. Here, a power transformer besides Rs 5 lakh were also sanctioned for construction of tiled paths. The DDC also said that 20 MVA transformer will be provided to the local grid, besides 100 electric poles. He also sanctioned Rs 10 lakh for construction of play field in convergence mode under 14th FC and MGNREGA here.The DDC was accompanied by ACD, SDM Kokernag, SEs of PDD & PHE, CAHO, CAO, Dy. CMO and other district officers and Engineer.In the three blocks of Hiller, Qazigund and Vessu, the visiting officers today inaugurated 29 works and foundation stone was laid for 59 works in three blocks of district Anantnag, which were identified under B2V1 programme. Out of 88 works taken up, 29 works were inaugurated, which include 19 in RD Block Hiller, 04 in Qazigund and 06 works of Vessu Block. Foundation stone of 59 works which include 22 works of RDD Blocks of Hiller, 15 of Qazigund and 22 works of Vessu Block was laid by the visiting officers. The inaugurated works related to interior road connectivity, works near main Masjids, Shrines, conservation, development of springs and water resources, lanes, drains, protection bunds, fencing of educational institutions and tile paths etc.
