Back to Village 2: Rural Haats set up to promote inter village trade

Back to Village-2 started across Gram Panchayats of Reasi district today with visiting officers holding meetings and touring their allotted Gram Panchayats.A string of activities marked the day which included Gram Sabhas, inspection of local schools and other government infrastructure.The district administration has planned a range of novel activities for B2V2, notably among which is establishment of ‘Rural Haats’. One or more Rural Haats, village markets, have been set up in all blocks where locals can sell their produce thereby promoting inter village trade.Among the visiting officers, Joint Director Subhash Chander dedicated a public toilet complex to people of panchayat Mari A of Reasi block. Similarly Vice Chairman, JDA, Vikas Sharma   held gram sabha at panchayat Panthal of block Panthal.Visiting officer for panchayat Aghar Balliyan of block Reasi, District SMS (Agri) Rakesh Sharma, visited the District Hospital and took stock of health facilities.On the occasion, a resident of village Mehari, block Katra handed over medicines worth Rs 1 lakh to the district administration for public use.Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Indu Kanwal Chib distributed sweaters among students of Government Primary School Neoura.
