Back to Village 2 launched in 106 Panchayats of Udhampur

As a part of government's initiative “Back to Village”, the second phase of this unique initiative began here today in 106 panchayats across the district.Visiting officers interacted with the PRIs and prominent citizens at allocated panchayats of the district. PRIs and local people projected several demands besides highlighting their problems including adequate power and water supply, medicare, road connectivity especially internal roads, inclusion of left out beneficiaries under Ayushman Bharat, school up gradation, release of pending payments under MGNREGA etc.Senior officers who visited Panchayats were Director Rural Sanitation, Leena Padha,  Registrar, J&K Special Tribunal, Nitu Gupta, Director Horticulture, Jammu Raj Kumar Katoch, Manisha Sarin, Additional Commissioner in office of Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Samita Sethi, Administrator Associated Hospitals Jammu, Additional Secretary Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Rakesh Kumar, Deputy Secretary Finance, Dr. Zakir besides other officers.On day 1 of the programme, DDC also visited Panchayat Chak Rakhwalan and interacted with the visiting officer, PRIs. He also inspected the progress on works being executed under prestigious project Jeevika.Pertinent to mention here that Jeevika project is conceptualized by District Administration Udhampur for upliftment of livelihood of farmers by way of water conservation, water harvesting, and effective use of water.
