Jalandhar (Rural) Police Recover 1.70 Kilograms Of Heroin By Busting A Smuggling Gang

Tightening the noose further around the drug peddlers, the Jalandhar (Rural) Police have recovered 1.70 kilograms of heroin by busting a smuggling gang operating in a highly sophisticated manner by constructing separate chambers through welding in their vehicles.Divulging the details, Senior Superintendent of Police Jalandhar Mr Navjot Singh Mahal said that the Rural Police had nabbed a PO Gurdit Singh @ Geeta with 54 KG Poppy Husk, Nine lakh Rupees Drug Money and an Innova Car from him on November 22. He said that during investigation Geeta revealed that they were carrying out the drug trade by constructing specialized chambers in the vehicles. Mr Mahal said that the accused also revealed that he used to supply the consignments of poppy husk to Bachitter Singh s/o Kulwant Singh r/o village Latiawal, PS Sultanpur Lodhi, District Kapurthala.Subsequently, the Senior Superintendent of Police said that a Police party was dispatched for further investigating the case. He said that at the gate of village Chachowal, a person was spotted coming on a motorcycle with a bag adding that when signalled to stop the person left the bike and managed to escape. He said that during the search of motorcycle bearing registration No. PB-09-K-6114. 1.70 kilograms of Heroin was recovered along with Driving Licence  No. PB-41-20190000470 issued in the name of Bachitter Singh and 01 Passport No. T-9164145 issued also in the name of Bachitter Singh.Mr Mahal said that Bachittar was already carrying out this business and the Special Cell of Delhi Police has already apprehended his brother Charanjit Singh s/o Kulwant Singh r/o village Latiawal, PS Sultanpur Lodhi and recovered 05 KG of Heroin.The Senior Superintendent of Police further said that during the investigation it also came into light that the special fabrication was done by the gang through Kamaljit Singh @Bagga s/o Jarnail Singh r/o village Saicha. He said that the welding set which was used by Kamaljit Singh for the fabrication of special cabin at the floor level of the truck bearing registration No. HP-38-F-2852 has been recovered from the house of Kamaljit Singh, but Kamaljit was absconding and all-out efforts were being made to arrest him.
